Lululemon Ambassador Photography Tips

These 15 Lululemon Ambassadors were recognized by the Austin and San Antonio stores because of their leadership within their respective health & fitness communities.
This was my third year taking ambassador portraits for Lululemon and I always look forward to the challenges it brings me to prioritize composition and work quickly to achieve the best black & white portraits possible.
The photographer must learn about their subject before the shoot because there’s usually only about 30 minutes to capture 10 “winners” for Lululemon to then make their final selection for the in-store print. I try bring as much knowledge and energy to these shoots as a group fitness instructor does so that I’ll be able to showcase their genuine personality. I scroll through their website or social media if I don’t already know them so that I can get a sense of their vibe. Bring a bluetooth speaker with you so you can match their personality with a song or genre of music.
Working closely with the ambassador — who may not be all that comfortable in front of the camera — is another key to success. By showing them what you’re trying to achieve is a great way to get the shot everyone’s happy with. Show them the in-camera shots and it’ll help the ambassador position themselves correctly for the shot you’re going for.
